Online MPJE Law Review Session Follow-up

A live, online follow-up session for the MPJE Law Review has been rescheduled for Thursday, June 11, at 1 p.m. All participants are requested to submit their questions prior to the event. MPA Director of Governmental Affairs Greg Baran will review the questions that are submitted, prepare answers to them and then share them with all participants of the review session. Click here to submit your questions. Note: if no questions are received, by Thursday, June 4, the session will not be held and it will not be rescheduled. Login instructions will be sent to each participant on Monday, June 8. Watch your e-mail!

Student MPA Volunteers to Help Plan 2010 MPA Convention

On Monday, July 20, Student MPA member volunteers will gather in Lansing to plan the student programming for the MPA 2010 Annual Convention & Exposition. Working with the students will be MPA Chief Executive Officer Larry Wagenknecht, Chief Operations Officer Dianne Miller and other MPA staff members. A number of suggestions and ideas that were submitted by students after the 2009 MPA Annual Convention will be discussed and evaluated, as well some new ideas for making the next convention even better for the students. Mark Your Calendars for Pharmacy Day @ the Capitol

Be sure to reserve Sept. 15 to attend MPA's Pharmacy Day at the Capitol. Student pharmacists play a key role in educating legislators on the value of the pharmacist. Volunteers have one-on-one time during wellness demonstrations with Michigan's lawmakers to discuss important pharmacy issues and provide expertise in the following areas:

  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Cholesterol monitoring
  • Immunizations
  • Asthma inhaler usage
  • Healthy lifestyle practices

Learn Leadership at Great Lakes Conference

Michigan Pharmacists Association, in conjunction with the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance and the Ohio Pharmacists Association, is accepting applications for the Great Lakes Young Pharmacists Leadership Conference to be held Oct. 2-4, 2009. Applications are due Aug. 15, 2009. The goals of the Leadership Conference are to identify emerging leaders, enhance the leadership skills of the participants and provide motivation to seek greater awareness and involvement in the issues confronting the profession.
